10:00AM

Here's a couple more items we found.
A stereo receiver and a projection
alarm clock.
Still digging a few more things out
of the truck. Wait til you see how
many plastic shoe boxes I found.
I'm going to use all those to organize
school supplies and bathroom
toiletry items on a bookshelf.

I found this exact stereo receiver
on Ebay for $150 plus $32 shipping
for a total of $182!!

It Works!!

I know next week for a fact is
the big rush of move outs.
Yesterday while DDn we ran into
a friend of ours that works at UV.
He made the comment, "I was wondering
when you were gonna show up". LOL.
It's good to know people when DDn
at certain places because some
will run you off. We've had that
happen at Olentangy. But got to talking
to the maintenance worker so it's all
good. Some DD'rs give it a bad rap
because they make such a mess.
When we DD sometimes we pick up trash
and throw it away or other times
we pretend to be throwing stuff
away like empty pop bottles or
McD cups then take a lookie.
We try not to linger too long, just
grab and go. If it's a box or bag of
stuff just grab the whole thing
and throw it in the truck. Like
yesterday I threw 4 trash bags in the
truck. And just because it's a trash
bag don't assume it's trash. I always
rip open a part of them if I think
there are goodies inside. And don't
assume some of those store boxes
are empty. I checked one and it
actually had a Roomba Robot vac in it
that worked last year. Looked like it had
never been used!
And my biggest thing is to ALWAYS
carry a bottle of hand sanitizer.
I use this on my hands after every
dive. Dumpster diving does not mean
you actually get into dumpsters.
After all these years of doing it
I think I actually got in twice and
that was to retrieve computers which
we turned around and sold for $75.
Sure there are always people around
because they are moving. I don't let
it bother me. I will never see them
again. I've had some even bring
me some more things they had in their
apartment and others who have had us
inside their apartment to pick through
it. I have found digital cameras, flat
screen monitors, game systems, computers,
gosh, you name it I've probably found it,
including money!

10:50AM

Ok here's the last of yesterday's haul.
Black purse, Samsonite bookbag,
18 plastic shoe boxes.
There was also some polo shirts
and a couple of large paper notebooks
not pictured.

And yes, whoever threw out those
shoe boxes actually used them for
shoes as I tossed a couple pairs
out of them. Too big for me at a size
8.5 to 9.5.
Who has that many shoes???
I have the basics:
tennis shoes, sandals, boots
and moccasin slip on shoes.
Get shoes in neutral colors
to match whatever outfit you're
wearing. No need to have a pair
in each color of the rainbow!!!

11:00AM

Well I need to start laundry and get it
hung up on the line. They are calling for
rain this afternoon. We're supposed to
start hanging fence panels today, YEAH!!

Tony doesn't think we should install these
6 foot fence panels over the driveway.
Instead he's thinking about a chain link
gate. I don't know how much they are.
We saw them at Lowes but there wasn't any
price on them.

Found another recipe for the freezer
for breakfast.

PEANUT BUTTER FRENCH TOAST

Ingredients

* 1/2 cup milk
* 3 eggs
* 1/4 cup peanut butter
* 2 tablespoons white sugar
* 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
* 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
* 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
* 4 slices bread

Directions

1. Whisk together milk, eggs, peanut butter, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon in a large bowl.
2. Heat the oil in a griddle or frying pan over medium heat.
3. Dunk each slice of bread in egg mixture, soaking both sides. Place in pan, and cook on both sides until golden, about 3 to 4 minutes per side. Serve hot.

This morning's breakfast was
Fried Bologna & Egg Sandwiches.

I had a bunch of bologna in the
freezer. I stocked up on it when
I found the packages for .39 cents each!!

Got a load of laundry on the line
and another started in the washer.
Now I need to go down to the freezer
and figure out what to have for
lunch and supper today.
Running low on some things so need
to get creative with meals.

12:50PM

Got pizza dough going in the bread
machine. I used this recipe.
I also added in some Tuscan Blend
seasoning, garlic powder and some
dehydrated onions. I didn't have
oil so I melted some butter
and allowed it to cool before
adding to the mix, don't want to
kill the yeast. And I did
add 3-4 Tablespoons more of flour
because I thought the dough was
too sticky.

It's not delivery, It's homemade!

Wanna watch me pull a rabbit outta
my hat? I scrounged up some things
to make a couple homemade pizzas.
I had a bowl of veggies from the
garden- tomatoes, hungarian peppers,
green bell peppers. I also chopped
up an onion and found a jar of black
olives. Didn't even have an entire
package of cheese! Oh also had
a package of sausage patties in the freezer
I chopped and fried up.

The crust is excellent. Holds up
when picked up. It reminds be of
a Boballi crust since it kind of
bubbles up.

Oh yeah I used bacon ranch dressing
for the pizza sauce.

See what can be made when you don't
think you have much. Just start
combining things together.

Time to get the laundry off the line
and hang up another load. Got yet
another load waiting in the washer.
Seriously thinking about hanging
up a third line like last year
as there is not enough line
to keep up with our laundry.

Ohhh I'm stuffed. 2 Pieces of
pizza for each of us did us in!

Time to go waddle out to the yard, lol.

Uh oh, I just checked the radar and
it looks like some rain is heading
our way. Might hold off hanging
this next load of laundry til
I see if we'll get rain or not.

_____________________________________

3:15-4:00PM

Rain decided to go North so I
got my next load of laundry hung up.

Me and Tony went out and he knocked
down a couple of the old fence panels.
WOW the yard looks so different
and much bigger!

Then we took out all the supports
to the new posts put in. We have
one post that didn't set right
or didn't have enough cement in it
because it wiggles too much.
So want to add more cement in
that hole.

Here soon we are gonna carry the new
fence panels out to the posts.

It is so hot and sticky out!!
So we are doing things with breaks
in between when it comes to dealing
with the outdoors.

If you enlarge the photos you can
see which post didn't set right.

5:00-7:30PM

Got the fence put up along the back.
This coming week we'll get up
the other 2 panels on the other side
facing the street.

Here's a sneak peak.

I'm too tired to post all the pics this
evening. But will get to it tomorrow morning.

After getting up the fence I took
the kids out to UV to get a McD's
Sundae. Then cruised through UV
for one more last look before the
weekend was over with. I got the
back end of the Suburban full of
stuff. Don't ask what at the moment
because I just grabbed boxes and bags.
Too tired to go through tonight so it
will be a surprise in the morning.
I do know I found a box of food, mostly
canned goods. I love it when they throw
their groceries away!

Oh, Jonathan found a Kroger Gift card
at UV. I had to stop by Kroger
before coming home to get some pop
so I asked the cashier to tell
me if there was anything left on
the card. There was $1.75 on it.
Hey any free money is good money!!

8-14-10

Last night SUCKED out at Brice Rd!!
It was nothing compared
to last year or even the years before that!
Yeah there was a big crowd and mopars
BUT maybe like one major burnout.
The cops had put the traffic lights
to flashing instead of allowing cars
to stop at red lights and doing
burn outs.

Here's some cars that were there.
Not all were Mopars.

This Charger was similar to ours
but a different year.

This Mastiff was HUGE. Pictures don't
do it justice. His name was Bull
and his head was about 3x's the
size of Jonathan's!

Not sure what this was. It was a
type of motorcycle with 2 seats
side by side.

______________________________________

5:45PM

Not sure what you want to call
this for supper.
I boiled up some cheddar smoked
sausage then slice down middle
and place on plate.

I then sauted up a box of Green
Giant Garden Vegetable Medley
(snap peas, roasted potatoes,
red peppers & garden herbs).
I also chopped up an onion,
threw in some sliced green
bell peppers and some banana
peppers. I sauted with some
Teriyaki sauce til tender.

Then I topped the smoked sausage
with a slice of Swiss cheese
and the veggies from above.
Added some salt & pepper and
a splash of Franks Red Hot sauce.

___________________________________

Earlier today we stopped by UV.
They are not into flow blown
move outs til next week.
Did find a few stragglers that
were starting to weed stuff out.

Here are my finds for today.
I still have 2 more bags to
go through and a few items
still in the truck that is
not included in these photos.
There was also some clothes
which included a couple t-shirts,
polos and shorts for the boys.

Not even sure how this subject got
brought up yesterday but we were talking
about Wallahalla. It's a road that sits
between Indianola and High Street between
Weber and EN Broadway. It's a road
that sits down in a ravine with a
small creek running beside it.
There are ghost stories that go along
with this road and we told the kids
we would take them tonight, after dark,
down this road. Hey this was their
idea, not ours! If you would like
to read about Wallahalla here are
a few web sites you can go to
or search Wallahalla Columbus Ohio
on Google.

6:30PM

Update:
Jonathan is staying the night
at his friend's house so it will
be just me, Tony and Christopher.
Will have to take along the
camera to take videos, lol.

Went through the last 2 bags of
stuff from DDn.

Here is what I found and kept.
Now mind you I have three totes
I am taking to Tony's work and
dumping with things I didn't want.

I did find some shorts, shirts and
some pants that might fit the boys.
The rest was girl clothes that
was waaay too small for me.

It makes you wonder what these
people kept for themselves because
it looked like they threw out
all their clothes and jewelry
along with bathroom items.
These aren't bobo clothes either.
They are name brand clothes like
Hollister and such. Just doesn't
make sense but I ain't trying to
figure it out. I love love LOVE
this time of year!

They'll even throw out all their
cleaning supplies and cupboards
of food!

9:30PM

Just returned home. Took a trip over
to Tony's work to pick up an air tank.
Then we cruised over to University
City Shopping center to visit McDonalds
for a couple hot fudge sundaes for the
boys and I used up my last free
caramel frape coupon before it
expired tomorrow.
When leaving we cruised through UV
once again.
Found a stereo receiver which is something
we've been needing. I have a box full
of surround equiptment that I was going
to give Damien for Christmas but it
has no receiver to make it all work.
Free is good because used ones go
for $50 to $100 believe me I looked
on Craigslist for them once before.

Jonathan also found a cd case full
of cd's from rap to rock n roll.

After that we took them down
Walhalla, which I have been spelling
wrong so this is the correct spelling.

We ended up with a car behind us
about half way through the road
so that sucked because we couldn't
slow down or stop to scare the kids, LOL!

On our joyous ride home with the windows
down and the temperature of 75 degrees
out I keep hearing this tap, tap, tapping
sound. I suspected a screw or nail in the
tire. Tony pulled over, and of course
it's dark out, but I found the screw
in the rear tire. It didn't seem
to be leaking air at them moment
but decided we should return home
in case it did. Good thing we picked
up that air tank at Tony's work.

Friday the 13th!!

8:00AM

Sitting here trying to get ideas
for breakfasts I can freeze
then just pop in the microwave.

This would make those back to
school mornings go much easier
and faster!

Individual Baked Eggs
These could be served over English
muffins. I personally would
bust the yolks before baking.
Bake up 12 of these in a cupcake
pan. Cool and put in freezer bags.

------------------------

You could also fry up some hash browns,
add in a pound of sausage (love maple sausage),
sprinkle with cheese. Put single
servings in sandwich bags.

------------------------

I like to use
Jiffy Muffin mixes in different
flavors to make pancakes or waffles.
Or you could just make muffins
and freeze.

------------------------

Easy doughnuts.

cut canned biscuits into quarters.
Fry up in oil.
Remove to paper towels to
absorb excess oil. Then roll
in powdered sugar or a
cinnamon sugar mix.

------------------------

Flash freeze french toast cut in sticks for breakfast. These are great for kids to dip into syrup or eat as is.

------------------------

Try a cooked sausage wrapped in a pancake. Freeze wrapped up in tin foil and warm up in microwave (take off tin foil first!)

------------------------

Breakfast pizzas

Use split English muffins.
Top with salsa, cheese,
crumbled sausage/bacon & scrambled eggs.

12:00PM

Mail man arrived and dropped
off my package of FREE hearing
aid batteries just like above.
There was 4 packages
of 8 for a total of 32 batteries!

These go for $11 a package
at Walmart.
So I got $47
worth of hearing aid batteries
for FREE!! (I included tax because
I would have had to pay that had I
bought them at the store)

Tonight is MOPAR night out at Brice Rd
in Reynoldsburg. Got the camera on charge.
Hoping to capture some good burnouts!
Don't know if I am gonna look forward to
this or not since it is supposed to
be soooo hot out! Taking along a
cooler full of ice and pop and maybe
a spray bottle full of water to
mist ourselves.

Today throughout the weekend
they will be racing at National
Trail Raceway
and having a swap
meet.

Sometimes during the day I go outside
and sit a few to soak up some warmth.
In the shade of course.
Today I took some of my coupons
outside to cut out and organize
in my notebook. I didn't put
a dent in them. Trying to get it
all caught up because once the
kids are back in school I can get
back to shopping with coupons
and going to the store more often
if needed to catch those sales.

8-12-10

7-9:00AM

Moving slowly this morning.
Gonna be another hot one like yesterday.
Got dishes going in the dishwasher.
Getting ready to wipe down kitchen
and haul the trash out.

This evening Kendra & Dewaine are coming
out. Supposed to get the cement in
around the posts, YEAHHHHH!

Me and Tony was experimenting yesterday
with seeing how hard it would be
to remove fence board slats from the
old fence. Not going to be easy but will
try my hardest to remove them before buying new
slats.

My idea I had shown yesterday
in the pictures should work.
Tony can't envision my plans so I guess
I need to play job foreman with this
project to show them how to do it.
I have studied enough fences in the
neighborhood and online for it to work.

We wasn't gonna start removing the old
fence til most of the new fence was
in place. I might go out and see if
I can start removing the slats from
them so I can get a head start.

Hey, if I can figure out how to put a huge
shed together with a million parts
and directions that seemed like they
were in another language, then this
should be a piece of cake!

Well the neighbor kid just came over.
This seems to be a daily thing
between 9:30 to 10:00AM.
He makes my eyes twitch!!
Because he uses the words DUDE
and OH MY GOD so much I could scream.
I don't allow the kids to use
God's name in vain so this irritates
the crap outta me.

10:30AM

I took down the smallest fence panel
at the end of the old fence and
removed the slats.

_______________________________

12:00PM

Just finished cleaning the bathroom.
Ahhhh! You can only imagine with
a house full of boys!

Tonight for supper I think we
are gonna do KFC. Mom's going
to get the buy 1 get 1 free 8 pc. buckets
of chicken and we'll each go in
half. I need to think of a few homemade
sides to go with it. Maybe some macaroni
and cheese and some stuffing?

_______________________________

1:20PM

Whew I must be in cleaning mode.
Just finished up putting things
away in the kitchen and wiping
down all surfaces. Then worked
on the living and dining room
tidying them up. Went through
a bunch of paperwork I had sitting
on the table. Cleaned out all
the old newspapers. Got a stack
of nothing but coupon inserts
I need to go through and put into
my coupon book.

I don't want to spend my weekend
cleaning so that's why I am trying
to get it done now.

__________________________

2:50PM

Finished doing more dishes by hand
from lunch and whatever else there
was leftover from earlier.

Made about 4 trips down to the
basement with things like
stereo stuff and canning
supplies. Got tired of them
sitting in the middle
of the floor and kicking them
with my toes.

Well I got about 5 more minutes
before rinsing out hair coloring.
Have been wanting to do this since
this past weekend and am finally
getting around to it.

I've been doing shades darker than
I usually do. I had been using
light to ultra light blond and
have started using light golden
brown these last two times.

Gonna wash that gray right outta
my hair! Sucks getting old!

getting ready to go into Kroger
we saw Ben Gelber in the parking
lot at UV Shopping Center.

Stopped by McDonalds and got
the kids each a free Wild Berry
Smoothie and me a free
Caramel Frape.

Vitaminwater revealed as non-healthy beverage by Coca-Cola's own lawyers

If Vitaminwater were accurately named, it would actually be called Sugarwater. Its first two ingredients are, not surprisingly, sugar and water (the sugar coming in the form of crystalline fructose, a processed sweetener that has been linked to health problems)

How much sugar is actually in Vitaminwater? A lot more than you might think: While the label claims only 13 grams of sugar per serving, one bottle of vitamin water is actually 2.5 servings, meaning that you're chugging down 32 grams of liquid sugars with every bottle.

In addition to the sugar and water, Vitaminwater contains a smattering of synthetic vitamin chemicals that any informed health consumer probably wouldn't want to ingest. So in reality, Vitaminwater is really sugar water with the addition of synthetic chemicals that happen to be called "vitamins" (but which are not the natural, plant-based nutrients your body would greatly prefer).

What I don't, and never will understand,

and has to self pay is the cost cheaper
compared to when you have insurance.

What I am trying to say is the doctors
will charge the insurance company
outrageous amounts compared to what
self paying people would pay.
It's a no wonder our insurance costs
are so high!!

For example Tony's recent visit to the
family doctor was for some blood work
and a urine sample test.
Between the doctor's
visit and the laboratory blood and urine
work the total cost they charged the
insurance company was $880!!
That is crazy if you ask me.

I was telling Tony of our trash truck
that's been coming around for the past
2 weeks. I said a lot of people would
be pissed of if this thing rolled
through about 6am due to it's
hideous noise it makes. Tony says
but all trash trucks are loud.
I said, oh no, this trash truck
has got them all beat when it comes
to making noise. It squeals, groans
and moans and can be heard streets
away! He didn't believe me til
I showed him the video.
Turn up your speakers to hear this
thing!!
In the beginning you can hear it
coming up the street before
it gets in camera view.
Have you ever seen Transformers
the movie? Well I was waiting
for this truck to transform into
a monster of some sort, LOL!
