9-27-10

8:00AM
This morning I plan to head on over
to the thrift store to see if I can find
me an outfit and possibly another
gift for the wedding Saturday.
It's an outside wedding so not
sure if I should find a dress or pants.

Remember that the last Wednesday
of the month for Ohio Thrift Stores
is 50% off day.
That's this Wednesday!
I prefer to go on a normal day
and not deal with the crowds!
I prefer to get in and get out.
Not deal with someone who has
a cart, overflowing like Mount Everest, with clothes
in front of me!

Won't do any grocery shopping today.
Probably tomorrow.

My entire grocery list for whole week!

7- 2 liters pop $5.60
Milk $2.00
Corn Flakes $1.67
4 four packs yogurt- FREE
4 coffee mates- FREE
4 Combos- $2.00
TOTAL: $7.67

-----------------------------

12:00PM

Back from thrift store.

Found me a long slightly glittery
gray sleeveless dress with sweater
for only .75 cents
It was $2.99 marked 75% off!

Then of course I had to find shoes
because I'm not even sure I have
a pair of dress shoes.
I found these to go with the dress
for $3.99.
Didn't like the price but it
was the only pair I found to match the dress.
Guess I can't complain to spend
$4.74 for an outfit for a wedding.
Then another $1.00 for Tony's shirt.
.
..Then I found 2 Halloween outfits
for the kids at $1.99 each.
$3.98 for 2 kids ain't too bad
considering I just saw an Avatar costume
at Kroger yesterday for $35!!
Kids don't care, it's all about the candy!
.
.
I found a little trinket box.
It's a big Kiss
that plays kiss music.
Like, This Kiss by Faith Hill
and Kiss is on my List by Hall & Oats
along with one other song.
.
.I found a baggie with 2 candle
rings in it for .90 cents.
I plan to take apart the berries
and use them on top of some washcloth
gifts I want to make for Christmas for people.
Like this below.
.
.Here's an ideas I had
for a wedding gift.
Could pick these items up from Dollar Tree.
Get some matching fabric place mats,
potholders, dish towels and kitchen utensils & ribbon
to make the last 2.
For the top one all you need is
washcloths, flowers, ribbon and cupcake papers.
.
..
Got home and found a $5.00 check in my mailbox!
Woo Hoo.
This is from Neilson for a survey I did.
Any free money is good money!!
.
.
I also found a large piece of fleece at
the thrift store today for .90 cents!
I've printed out the patterns for
the sweater mittens and
will make the boys each a pair.
.
.------------------------------------

3:30-4:00PM

Gave my step-dad a hair cut.
I'm starting to feel like a traveling beautician, lol.

4:10PM

Jonathan trying his costume on.
.
.
Tony says he has to work over tonight
til 7:00PM.
The big wigs are coming to inspect
the property tomorrow.
Was supposed to of been today.

Tonight's supper:

2 Hamburger Helper 4 Cheese lasagna $1.00
1 pound hamburger .12 cents
1/2 carton cottage cheese .50 cents
1 cup mozarella cheese .50 cents

TOTAL COST $2.12

-----------------------------

5:30PM

Started cutting out the patterns
for 2 pairs of mittens for the boys.
I used the size large child/small adult.
I might have enough fabric left over
to make 2 scarves and 2 hats to match.
.
Later on this evening might work on sewing
these together then look
for a pattern to make some hats.

The good thing with using fleece
is that the pattern is printed on
both side so need to flip pattern
pieces over when tracing and cutting out.

5:40PM

Getting started on supper.

6:15PM

Supper is cooking on stove.
Got dishes put away out of dishwasher
and reloaded it and have it going.
Then a knock at the door by the
three amigos looking at the Explorer.
They had a translator because
no comprende no habla ingles.
I know Mexicans when it comes
to vehicle buying, thank goodness,
because Tony is not here.
I did good talking car talk
and car parts and what was wrong
with it so they knew I was knowledgeable
about cars and not a complete idiot like
some may think I am.
I'm pretty sure I know where they live,
when they said right up the street,
since there are like 10+cars parked out
in front of their place with some that
are siding trucks. Mexicans have big families
and live in numbers in one residence.
The translator asked me if I would go any
lower on $900 and I told him NO!
I said that price reflects the problems
with the truck because if I had it fixed I
could probably get $1700 out of it.
And that's what I said!
I also know Mexican are good mechanics
and work on their own cars!
Go to Pick N Pull and see how
many of them are there getting car parts.
I have sold about 2-3 of our vehicles
to Hispanics and they will try to jew
you down no matter what price
may be on the window!
So I am standing my ground.
They are coming back tomorrow
because the truck's battery is dead
thanks to my lovely children who
didn't shut a door all the way
leaving the dome light on.
That's not the way to sell a car!
Ahhhh!
I really need to brush up on some Spanish.
I took it in school.
I would love to be able to talk
to these people and know what
the heck they are translating or
saying to one another.
Just like a couple weeks ago
a Hispanic wanted me to help
him with the ATM machine.
He didn't speak English and I didn't speak
Spanish so we didn't get very far.
The sign language wasn't working!

6:35PM
Well back to getting supper
finished up.
Tony's still not home.

7:00PM

Supper's done.
4 cheese lasagna hamburger helper
with cottage cheese, diced tomatoes,
mozarella shredded cheese.
Bread & butter.
.
My stomach isn't feeling the greatest
so will wait til Tony gets home to possibly eat.
So for the mean time will work
on sewing up some gloves.

7:45PM

Eating just a little supper.
Tony just got home.
Belly don't feel good so here
in a few I might head to bed
and watch some Ghost Whisperer
and go nigh nigh.

All I can say is thank goodness
for Wall-E being on because
this has been the quietest the kids have been
in quite some time!
