I got my overcharged money back
from Meijers today from the dog
food and potatoes.
Somehow they ended up giving
me back $2.79, which was .81 cents
more than I expected!
And I also priced the brocoli,
celery and oranges to see what
I save on those also as they
did not calculate those savings
on my bill.
So I'm gonna start from scratch again
on my grocery bill from yesterday
to show you my actual savings
now that I have calculated in the
veggies, fruit and the money I got
back from being overcharged!
Overcharged and got back $2.79
Broccoli is normally $1.25 x's 12 is $15.00
minus what I paid $1.20
is a savings of $13.80
Oranges are normally $3.99 a bag x's 2 is $7.98
minus what I paid $2.00
is a savings of $5.98
Celery is normally $1.50
minus what I paid .31 cents
is a savings of $1.19
PLUS I SEE THEY CHARGED ME
FULL PRICE FOR IT AT $1.50
instead of the .31 cents
so they owe me another refund of $1.19
SO TOTAL SAVINGS ON THIS
SHOULD BE $2.38
Because of the refund!!
I'm telling ya all to CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS!!!

curled up lip and look of disgust!!!
I'm tired of getting overcharged almost
every time I got there to shop.!!
Now think about it. How many customers
come in daily. What if they overcharged
them $4.00 each time and those customers
never caught the mistakes. Now you
do the math to figure out how much
they are making off these mistakes
and putting in their pockets!!!

I take my shopping pretty seriously
by watching every penny I spend.

What do I do with samples?

and collect the others to put in
a basket or as a care gift to give to someone!

Today we splurged and I got a hair cut for $10.
I'm luck to get 1-2 hair cuts a year.
I only get the split ends cuts off,
hair layered and the bulk taken
out since it is so thick.
They always try to sell you salon products
which I turn down.
I can make my own at home!
Don't pay for those expensive hair products.
Do this every couple of weeks
or about once a month as needed-
Massage mayonnaise on hair
then rinse out and wash hair
as usual.
Or give yourself a hot oil treatment
by applying warmed olive oil (put some in zip bag
and set in hot water to warm) to hair and wrapping
head with a towel
and covering with a plastic bag.
And you could also use flat beer as a rinse.

For supper I might make
some goulash.

3/4 pound hamburger .10 cents
1 can diced tomatoes .33 cents
5 bread & butter .35 cents

My tip for cooking hamburger-
I usually add a little water in the
skillet when frying it up to put into dishes.
Once cooked I put in a colander
and drain and run hot water
over it to rid it of any more
fat/grease that may be on it.
Tomorrow I will start working
on making up some Broccoli Salad.
The remaining broccoli will
be used in lunches with dipping
dressing and the rest blanched for
the freezer.
6 heads of broccoli- .60 cents
3/4 cup mayonnaise (or ranch dressing) .25 cents
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese .50 cents
couple slices bacon, fried & crumbled- .50 cents
a couple tablespoons Splenda
tablespoon vinegar

The problem I saw was they did not
cover up the regular UPC code with
the marked down tag so that's how it
rang up full price.
I got to thinking.
If they overcharged me every week $4.00
and times that by 52 weeks in a year
that's $208!!
So you see why I say to check your receipt
every time because while it doesn't sound
like a whole lot in one shopping trip
it starts to add up over the year!!

I have yet to hear from Downy
about my trip.
The last we spoke on the phone she
said, "how does the week of Sept 20th sound"
and I said fine.
Have yet to hear a peep from them since!
This is getting frustrating considering
that Tony has to give notice at work
as to when he needs to take off
for this trip. I hope they don't tell me
like the day before and expect me to
just up and do it. And I hope they don't
delay it til sometime in November or December
expecting us to drive through possible snow!
If that's the case then they can forget it!!
