10:00PM

I know my blog is ass backwards today.
I'll try to return to normal tomorrow, LOL!

We left earlier this evening to go
get gas and run some errands.
Got home and must of just missed
an event that took place at the neighbors
caddy corner from us. There was a cop over
there and of course I had to be nosey to
see what was up. It's my neighborhood
too and if there's police, I want to know
why.

Well anyway I guess 3 punks walking
down the street decided they would
pick up a large rock and throw it
at the neighbor's semi cab out front
of his house. They didn't know he was just
around the corner. It must of made a horrific
sound when hitting the truck because
most neighbors came out to see what
happened. The neighbor confronted the
3 boys which in turn jumped him, in front
of his three little kids mind you, and
the one punched him in the face. Our
one elderly neighbor who was outside
ran in her house because she got scared.
This is just getting ridiculous anymore with
these hooligans around here. We neighbors
need to stand our ground to keep them away!!
And ya know one of the neighbors down the
road works for the township police department.
The problem doesn't lie with people from
this neighborhood. It lies with people who
come through this neighborhood from bad areas.
I chased the one off one day about ready
to beat his ass. I was loud enough to bring
attention to myself and the situation that
other neighbors came out. We need to gang
up on these young punks who think they
are bad asses!!

Well I need to get to bed soon so I can
get some sleep to go to yard sales
tomorrow morning. Got a church sale
just up the street, oh goodie!

***************SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT***************

I see the Fed Ex truck pull up out front.
I'm thinking maybe Tony's socks that I
got off Ebay were here, WRONG!

The Fed Ex lady hands me an envelope
and I couldn't figure out what it was for.

So I opens it up and it is something I completely
forgot about doing.

Earlier this year Downy had a contest called
"Design Your Own Scent" and I entered numerous
scents.

Well I am here to tell ya this letter says,
"we are pleased to announce that your entry has
been selected as a potential Grand Prize winner."

The prize is:
2 day 1 night trip for winner and guest to
Proctor and Gamble headquarters in
Cinci, OH for the inroduction of the
new Downy Simple Pleasures scent and to
see advertising plans for the scent launch.
Round-trip coach air transportation,
1 night hotel accomodation and ground
transfer between airport and hotel.

I now have to fill out:
Affidavit of elegibility,
release of liability,
Prize acceptance form.
Then Fed Ex it back to them.

So as you can guess I am a little
freaked out at the moment to the point
of tears!!

I am a little confused by the letters
and paperwork and am wondering if I am
a winner once paperwork is submitted
or a finalist that could be chosen
as a winner.

I keep reading and rereading all this
paperwork. Even got online to read the rules.
Am I that potential Grand Prize winner
as it states below and also states
in my paperwork in my hand???
It sure as heck sounds like it.
Freaking out, Freaking out, Freaking out!!!!!

According to their website I saw
that there was over 7,000 entries!!
Freaking out, Freaking out, Freaking out!!!
About ready to cry because I have had a
crappy week last week and can't believe
I could be winning something!!!

I just need to set all this aside
for now after the initial shock
wears off so I can better understand
it later on.

Now wondering which one of my scents
they chose as it does not state it
in the paperwork.

Just think the next time you purchase
Downy fabric softener that bottle
could have been created by me.

Do you see me doing a happy dance,
jumping up and down.

I know the prize sucks but to me it's the
thought that I did something and got
chosen for my creativity, not by just
entering a regular contest and names
being drawn from a hat.

I did find this in the rules section:

7. GENERAL RULES: If a potential Grand Prize winner is a U.S. resident, winner (or parent/legal guardian if potential winner is a minor in his/her state of residence) will be required to complete an Affidavit of Eligibility, Release of Liability, Prize Acceptance Form and, if legally permissible, a Publicity Release. All documents must be completed and returned within 7 days of attempted delivery of same. Noncompliance within this time period or return of any prize/prize notification as undeliverable will result in disqualification without further notice and an alternate may be selected, time permitting.

Oh, this contest was open to all US residents,
not just Ohio!!
(The Downy Design Your Scent Contest and Sweepstakes is open only to residents of the 48 contiguous United States or the District of Columbia 18 years of age or older at time of entry and residents of Canada who are the legal age of majority in the province or territory in which they reside at time of entry.)

To save money on costs of baby food
make your own and freeze!

Easy Homemade Baby Food & Baby Food Recipes - Tasty, Nutritious & Full of Love for your Baby

Storing Homemade Baby Food Using the Ice Cube Tray - Freezer Bag Method

Using this method, you spoon or pour your purees into regular ice cube trays and then cover with plastic wrap. Prior to using your ice cube trays, you want to thoroughly cleanse them with warm soapy water and/or run them through the dishwasher on the sanitize setting. Some parents have even submerged their ice cube trays in boiling water for sanitizing (note: please make sure that the manufacturer of the trays indicates it is ok to boil the trays.)

The ice cube tray method offers you many advantages:

Note Each cube is approximately 1+ ounces, allowing you to have an idea of the amount of food your baby is consuming.

Note Another advantage is that you probably have ice cube trays on hand and will not need to go out and buy them.

Note Further, there is minimal waste as you use only 1 cube at a time and will not have to toss away much food; such as you toss away when using commercial foods.

Note Using this method also allows you to make several trays at a time so your time spent in the kitchen making baby food is decreased.

Once the purees have been frozen in the trays, you simply pop out the cubes and use as needed. If you've made big batches, pop out the cubes and store them in freezer bags. You simply transfer the baby food cubes into freezer bags, freeing up your trays for the next batch of food as well as freeing up some freezer space.

If using the freezer bag method for your food cubes, be sure to label the bags with the type of food and also date the bags. This will help you to quickly grab a cube from a bag of veggie and a bag of fruit without having to guess what you have in the bags. It also allows you to keep track of the length of time the food cubes have been in the freezer.

SKIN PROBLEMS?

I have bought big tubs of oatmeal on sale
and with coupons for about .50 cents each.
While I don't go through that much oatmeal
at once I decided to take one tub and grind
it up in a food processor, then put it
back into the tub and label it so it
doesn't get confused with the regular oatmeal.

I use this finely ground oatmeal in baths
and sometimes I put a small amount in
a bowl mixed with a little water to use
as a paste on bug bites, poison ivy,
sun burns and other skin irritations.

It costs $6.00 for a Walgreens brand
of an 8 pack of oatmeal bath treatment.
That's .75 cents each for a 1.5 ounce package!
The brand name Aveeno runs about $8.00.

I didn't pay that much for the whole tub
of oatmeal that will last me a long time!!

You could also shred down your bar soap
slivers and melt down in a pot on the stove
with a little water and add the oatmeal
to it. Pour it in a mold and allow to harden.

To buy an Aveeno oatmeal soap bar would
run about $3.00 each.

So save some money and make your own
with what you have on hand!

Not sure exactly when all the college move outs
will be happening but we suspect within the
next month.

Maybe this year I'll take along the camera
and show you what college move out time
is all about!

-Friends & family-

If you have a wants list
of items- you need to start sending a list to me.
Please do not say upholstered furniture
or mattresses!
There are still too many bed bug problems
around campus and apartments
and I don't want to be the blame for that!!
They are too hard and too expensive to
get rid of!!

I figure about the middle of August
is when we will go but will keep checking
before then.

11:00AM

Think I will head down to the basement
and start some laundry. The weather looks
to be hazy, hot and humid today, perfect
for drying clothes outside.

Trying to get pumped up to weed more
crap outta the basement. I got me
another stash of boxes thanks to
Tony bringing them home from work.
Just sooo much more to do down there!
