7-6-10

It's gonna be a hot one today!
Gonna try to keep the kids indoors as much
as possible. I do need to stop by
the library today and possibly Kroger.
Other than that I'm still working in the
basement and will probably be hanging clothes
out to dry.

I got Tony's truck loaded up this morning
with stuff I hauled out of the basement
yesterday. Got the back end and back
seat full of stuff! Putting a dent in
the basement but still a long way from
where I would like to be down there.

9:00AM

Got the first load of laundry hung outside.
Trying something a lil different with clothing
and hanging them on hangers while drying.
I seem to get more on the line this way.
I know I said I wasn't line drying clothes
but after just paying the electric bill
I am having second thoughts. This is the highest
my electric bill has been in 12 months!
And I have my air condition set at 75 degrees
with box fans and ceiling fan running.
Curtains, blinds and doors are closed.

12:50PM

1 load of laundry dried on the line and another in the washer.

got 1 box and 1 bag of stuff to haul outta basement.

Haven't figured out what to have for supper
but will be making a peaches n cream cheese pie.

1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup sugar (will use Splenda)
1 tablespoon milk
1 graham cracker crust (9 inches)
1 can (15-1/4 ounces) sliced peaches, well drained
(freeze peach juice in ice cube trays, remove
to a zip bag. Can use in things like Jello)

Jonathan's been wanting one of those
smoothies from McDonalds and I ain't
spending that kind of money on one
so figured I'd make my own.

In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugar and milk until smooth.
Spread over the bottom and up the sides of the crust.

Cut peach slices in half if desired. Arrange over cream cheese.
Refrigerate for
up to 4 hours before serving. Yield: 6-8 servings.

* my note: you can put the peach slices in the
bottom of the graham crust then spread cream
cheese on top.

Ain't it funny what you can find when you clean.
Yesterday while in the basement I found my
ice cream cake pans, grrr. I searched and searched
for that thing a couple months back.

I'm thinking maybe another day this week I'll make

MINI ICE CREAM COOKIE CUPS

I'm sure I will have my own variations to
this recipe when I make it.

1 package (16 oz) Pillsbury® Ready to Bake!™ refrigerated sugar cookies (24 cookies)
4 teaspoons sugar
1/3 cup Fisher® Chef’s Naturals® Chopped Walnuts, finely chopped
1/2 cup Hershey’s® semi-sweet chocolate baking chips
1/4 cup Smucker’s® Seedless Red Raspberry Jam
1 1/2 cups vanilla bean ice cream, softened
24 fresh raspberries

Heat oven to 350°F.

Spray 24 mini muffin cups with Crisco® Original No-Stick Cooking Spray. Place 1 cookie dough round in each muffin cup. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Place 2 teaspoons of the sugar in small bowl. Dip end of wooden spoon handle in sugar; carefully press into center of each cookie to make 1-inch-wide indentation. Cool completely in pan, about 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, in small bowl, mix walnuts and remaining 2 teaspoons sugar; set aside. In small microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips uncovered on High 30 to 60 seconds, stirring after 30 seconds, until smooth.

Run knife around edges of cups to loosen; gently remove from pan. Dip rim of each cup into melted chocolate, then into walnut mixture. Place walnut side up on cookie sheet with sides.

In another small microwavable bowl, microwave jam uncovered on High about 15 seconds until melted. Spoon 1/2 teaspoon jam into each cup. Freeze cups about 5 minutes or until chocolate is set.

Spoon ice cream into cups, using small cookie scoop or measuring tablespoon. Top each cup with fresh raspberry. Store in freezer; let stand at room temperature 5 minutes before serving.

4:35PM

Got a peaches n cream pie made. Also
decided to use up some more leftovers
to make some smoothies.

-leftover cream cheese mixture from pie
-leftover peaches from pie
-4 leftover containers of cherry yogurt
(kids didn't like it so am mixing it
with other things so they'll eat it
and never know)
-leftover apricot jello with mandarin oranges

Put everything in food processor and blended
together.

5:00-7:00PM

Went to Bethel Rd. Walmart for some
black gloss spray paint for the Trans Am hood.

Wanted to find a plastic kiddie wading pool
but didn't find any there. Stopped by
Dollar General and none there either.
Figured this year I would get a simple
plastic pool that doesn't blow up, get
holes and is easy to clean. Plus if
the dog wanted to jump in also she could
without ripping the sides. Will keep searching.

Stopped in Speedway and got 2 slushies FREE
and 2 Dr. Peppers 20 ounces for $1.11
using my coupons.

From there we went to Tony's work. He found
a tall black bookshelf in an apartment
and needed my help to load it in the truck
considering it was upstairs in a townhome.
This is not a picture of it but very similar.
I like FREE!

7:00PM

Tonight's supper

Betty Crocker's Cheesy Hashbrowns (for hamburger).
Used cheddar smoked sausage slice up in place
of the hamburger.

Smoothies

Peaches N Cream Pie

Finishing up supper then will be heading outside
to hang up the last load of laundry for today.

Then I need to go down in the basement
and move things around so I can get my
new bookshelf put down there.
I currently have a couple plastic shelves
in my pantry area that I want to swap out
for the bookcase. The plastic shelves will now
go in the rec room to put toy totes on.

8:00PM

Was reading the news and saw something that
just sounded soooo stupid. But I guess if
you live in Yuppyville these are the new rules.
In Dublin your trash can cannot be visible. You cannot
store it on the side, front or behind your home
out in plain sight or you get fined $100 a day.
Is that a crock of crap or what?! It seems like
cities are always looking for ways to make money
no matter how low they can go to get it.
So where ya supposed to put a trash can then?
Move the car out of the garage so the trash
can can park in there? I'm talking the big
city trash containers.

The air is so thick outside! We were spraying
the Trans Am hood with gloss black paint
and there was a cloud of spray paint and
fumes just hovering in the air. You can
see it in the pictures.
Buzzing pretty good at the moment, WHEEEEEE!

9:15PM

Kids are outside playing in the water at
the neighbors house.
So I decided to start hauling up
crap outta the basement. Still exceeding
my goal of 1-2 boxes a day.
Today I filled 5 boxes and a huge
trash bag! Patting myself on the back.
But in the process of bringing them up
the steps I manage to knock off a floor
tile at the very top of the steps.
Hoping Tony can bring home some tile
grout to put it back. Ooops.

Where can you find a basic, plastic wading pool
like the one below. I have been searching
stores online still with no luck.
If you see one somewhere give me a hollar
as to what store it was at.
